    That was a really bizarre game to watch. Jeter is a hard guy to read, he never expresses a lot of emotion until the game is over and he can celebrate so to watch him so clearly be emotional from the start of the game and find a way to muster through it. He looked like he was gonna make an error on a few plays but he just managed to do his job that night. It was actually amazing he could do anything with all that stuff going on both internally and externally. The fact that he took a first pitch, in a big spot like that, to the opposite field with his signature Jeterian swing for a game winner is so telling about his prescience of mind throughout his entire career. Legend!

    I hate the Yankees, I always have and always will. Never would I imagine supporting them for any reason. Having said all that, Jeter is one guy from them that I respect a lot, because he is one of the classiest baseball players of the past generation. And even for how much I hate the team, I still felt pretty good about seeing how his last home at bat went down. That's a great way to finish your career.

      Ardian Gjonbalaj You know the team who knocked out your Yankees in the playoffs the last two times I recall they made it? Yeah, that's my team; the Tigers. Our bullpen may be garbage annually lately and we may not have nearly as much success, but we're by no means a bad franchise. Quite honestly I hate all the dynasty type franchises, but the Lakers and Celtics top my list on that (up there with the Yanks, Montreal Canadiens, and the Green Bay Packers). Only one I happen to like is the Red Wings because I've loved them since I was a toddler, before they became a super power.

    Lol, that clip of JF in the background. I love his enthusiasm over everything so much; 90% of the rest of the media is so depressing.
    And to the random couple of people who say in every vid that that he isn't genuine and can't possibly laugh for real that much, or be that excited in interviews, that clip is a perfect example of the opposite. (One of many examples if you've ever watched basically any vid of him ever for the past 15 or so years.) I have never felt so weirdly protective over someone I've never met as when I see those comments. NO. STOPPPPPPP. He is happy, okay. Oh, how vexing! I would like to be that happy.

    • @one23itsjustme
      @one23itsjustme 9 лет назад +3

      I agree 100%. ~ In fact, I was blushing and laughing when viewing this clip of Jimmy laughing at himself because this is how I am with Jimmy when I see him on TV! (We have a big screen TV, so I jump up and act like I'm there in the audience, and basically become his cheerleader for the intro of his show (yes, it's goofy) LOL. (only when I'm alone in my livingroom tho LOL). I can't help it. I love so many things Jimmy does and I hate that there are so many unhappy, disgruntled, sad people who have to hate on him. It just goes to show how unique JF is. I hope he never changes...

    • @one23itsjustme
      @one23itsjustme 9 лет назад +1

      michelle e Yes, I agree about both things you mentioned.... Jimmy is doing good in ratings (as unpredictable as they are)...& yes, Reading comments on YT is depressing. Too many 'Debbie Downers' & people complaining about videos that are meant to be positive (I would understand if they were videos meant to spark debates, or those with blatant controversy or political themes, etc).... I fall into the habit of reading comments sometimes...I think this is one of the few 'topics/people' that I follow with so many haters .... The majority of the other 102+ topics I follow, tend to have less of a bitchy audience...and more of a 'learning' or 'sharing' type of attitude; so there's none of the petty whining, about 'not liking someone for their laugh' or appearance. (I do suspect a percentage of these folks fall into any one of these categories: : a) jealous males b) teens ,c) disgruntled team coco fans d) foreigners. LOL. e) people who aren't yet culturally versed & f) people who can't relate to anybody who is always 'happy' in life. LOL :P

    • @michellee2788
      @michellee2788 9 лет назад +2

      one23itsjustme
      People do seem overly suspicious of happiness, definitely. Also, the more popular someone is, the more hate they get. I think that's the biggest thing. I very rarely saw comments like that when LNJF was on (there were much fewer comments, but those who commented were basically all longtime fans) but as soon as JF switched to an earlier timeslot and did so well ratings-wise and viral video-wise and people who had never seen him before or only remembered him from SNL saw him, it was all like, oooooh how dare he clap his hands when he laughs. How dare he TALK when he interviews someone wth.
      If someone just doesn't like his humour, fine. Humour's subjective. But when the mean comments are 95% people who don't like when the host laughs or talks or is "too nice" it's like, wow, they must be super fun at parties.

    Not only did God give him one more magical moment in his last at bat at Yankee Stadium. But also his last at bat in the majors was a hit that gave the Yankees the lead in Fenway Park a few days later helped the Yankees win that game which was a symbolic win to show that with Jeter on the team the Yankees always won. Thank you Derek for your passion for the game and for continuing the tradition of legend makers in Yankee Stadium. Jeter is now on the top tier in Yankee history along with Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Reggie Jackson, Mickey Mantle, Mariano Rivera, Lou Gehrig, Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra. You deserve it Captain !!!

    I'm still amazed that a guy from my generation and the same age as me (Derek Jeter is 2 months older than me and Jimmy Fallon) is still considered one of the all-time best baseball players and was the first Yankee player to get 3,000 hits. That blows my mind when you consider all the great hitters who played for the Yankees over the last 90 freaking years - Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Berra, Mattingly etc.... How did that happen???

    • @joel.ha.
      @joel.ha. Год назад

      It happened very logically. None of the guys you listed played anywhere near as long as Jeter was able to. You're talking about an elite group, 0.00142222222% of MLB players who have reached 3000 hits. MOST teams dont have anybody who has done it. Cleveland has 13 hall of famers, none with 3000 hits. 30 some players have done it, out of tens of thousands of MLB players

    Jeter is an amazing player, the best god damn shortstop ever... no one can beat him because he is 100x times better... he was the captain and will always be... Jeter won the game for his team and won our heart... Yankees were his number one team, and I’m glad it was... Hope retirement and your wife keep you company... wish you were still on the Yankees cuz we need you 💖😘😍
